REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY TRAVEL – ADVICE RECEIVED FROM PHIL DAVEY EVENT CO-ORD.

Dear all,
Sunday 9 November travel.

Taxis: You should have received the RBL email issued on Friday 17 regarding the Poppy Cabs free taxi service on Remembrance Sunday.

Rail: The Rail Delivery Group confirmed that the rail networks were again offering serving personnel and veterans free rail travel to those attending Services of Remembrance across the country on 9 November (and the Submariners’ Remembrance Service on 1 November).

This includes travel to any London Terminal station on either Saturday 8 or Sunday 9 November, with return travel permitted on Sunday 9 only.

Note that some Rail staff may ask for documentary proof, Veterans railcard, Veterans Oyster, Veterans ID card or other appropriate record of service.

Never been asked at Portsmouth Hbr or Waterloo, however, trains running is another issue!
