MEMBERSHIP SECRETARY VACANCY
THE ROYAL NAVAL MEDICAL BRANCH & SICK BERTH STAFF ASSOCIATION NEEDS A NEW NATIONAL MEMBERSHIP SECRETARY
The current incumbent, Dave Grist, has held the position for several years but now must step down due to increasing work commitments.
Duties of the National Membership Secretary include:
- Maintaining a database of members’ personal details, including their subscription payment status, magazine printed or electronic copy choice, and contact details.
- Provide a report on membership, new joiners, leavers and obituaries for each NEC meeting, AGM, and magazine run.
- Ensure that the Application for Membership form, and process, is fit for purpose.
- Liaise with the National Treasurer to ensure the subscription records of members are correct and up to date.
Key Skills Required:
- Ability to use computers, i.e. word processing, emails, database management (using Excel Spreadsheets or any suitable programme to maintain the membership database). Liaise with the DOC RN website manager to ensure records are accurate across local and online sites.
- Attendance at National Executive Committee meetings which are usually held online using video conferencing systems such as Microsoft Teams or Zoom.
- To hold the archive of current and past membership (3 lever arch files).

- A handover will be provided and ongoing support will be provided.
- Volunteers will be confirmed at the Association AGM in Liverpool in April.
