WE NEED A NEW EDITOR
VOLUNTEER JOB VACANCY
The Royal Naval Medical Branch Ratings & Sick Berth Staff Association (RNMBR&SBSA) is looking for a magazine editor to create and manage its three times a year magazine.
The work involves collecting articles, dits, jokes and other content for the magazine, creating the document and sending it off for printing. (The distribution is handled by others).
The document is created using the desktop publishing program Scribus at the moment, but any similar program you are familiar with can be used to create the PDF document ready for printing. The other committee members act as proof readers and grammar experts.
This would be an ideal project for someone who has a the ability to put a few hours toward the project every 3-4 months. The knowledge on using a desktop publishing program (or a word processor at a push) would be beneficial, but the ability to learn as you go along is perhaps more useful. Using your own computer, the Scribus software and existing templates would be provided, and the existing editor is willing to assist and guide as necessary.
The volunteer would be required to become a member of the Association, be co-opted onto the committee and report to the committee at meetings.
